Lute FP Fantastic melodic heavy progressive metal.

The listening experience brings to mind mid-period Opeth, without the death growls. This is an intense listen.

These guys go for midrange vocals and musical intensity- they don’t noodle about or get sidetracked with long instrumental rabbitholes. They are in the business of crafting interesting songs that always keep you engaged, with enough melody and enough riffage to satisfy metal fans of all genres. The songwriting is clever and dynamic. Killer!

Bertrand Marchal This is a revelation. This album is a terrific excercice in precise, inspired songwriting that draw comparisons to Anathema in particular: it has the same feverish/desperate intensity, yet balanced by a scarcely matched ability to make a song progress in exciting, surprising ways. You're in for a very rich, baroque ride ridden with emotional, melancholic moments. Pure gold! long live Ukraine - I hope these guys will come out safe from the inferno.

Jono Schneider Just fabulously heavy and awesomely energetic in its dissatisfied response to the present. Dynamic, too.

about

LightStream Division of Darknagar Records presents a debut opus by Ka Mmen entitled “The Sands”. Sensual and soulful, pushing and energetic, melodic and rhythmic, deep and meditative... the music plays with moods and sonorities. Ka Mmen have knocked into one the best traditions of 1960s Psychedelic Rock, 1990-2000s British Melancholic Rock and Norwegian Avant-Garde Metal, skillfully interweaving their original and extraordinary harmonies into this canvas.
